Monster Graphic Card

I was doing house keeping for my PC yesterday, and I found some photos of my new graphic card that I bought few months ago. I shot these photos for blog but end up I totally forget bout it =.='

Few months ago me and my little brother decided to upgrade our PC to next level by upgrading our graphic card. Only this time I asked him to do the research instead of me because I no longer that addicted to PC games anymore, so any graphic card better than my Asus 512MB 8500 GT will do.

So after few days, my brother told me he make the order already. And when to gear arrived, I was kinda shocked. It was Gigabyte GTX 260 Super Overclock !! This "monster" running on the nVidia GTX 260 chipset with 896MB DDR3 RAM, full HD, HDMI and it can combine with 2 or more same graphic cards and run it together for better performance if you have enough space in your casing.

Of course from the words overclock mean it can be overclock for better performance. Those who don't know what the heck is "overclock", do Google it because I don't want end up a very long post and also being scold for not talking "human language"...

The term "monster" I used to describe this graphic card not only due to its performance and cost, it also describe the graphic card's size.... A normal graphic card is a size of an adult palm or slightly bigger than that. But this "monster" is twice the size of a normal graphic card and twice the thickness as well.

It barely fit my casing, I need to move my second hard disk and rearrange all the wire to make it just fit, JUST FIT only ~~!!

YES of course I was too excited to install but end up too excited and I forgot to read the manual. So after I installed this "monster" to my PC, I can on my PC as usual, but when I run a game with all the highest video setting, poof ~~! my PC off by itself. From the first sign of judgment, I know the power is not enough to run it.

I flip the manual, and guess what, this "monster" is a electric SUCKER ~! It need at least 550watt to run this "monster" and my current power supply only pump 220watt of power only. So what to do, have to upgrade the power supply as well lo.

I ordered 2 Cooler Master Extreme Power Duo 600watt power supply for me and my brother and in the end we manage to enjoy great graphic games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Bioshock 2 with the highest video setting. woohoo~~!!

But every joy will comes with pain, on this time upgrade, me and my brother spent almost 1k EACH on these gadget. Thats the price we paid for good gaming experience, but does it worth ? definitely YES !!

By the way, I'm selling off my old Asus 512MB 8500 GT and iCute 220watt power supply, anyone interested do leave me a message and I will give you a good price, heee...

My Processor a.k.a CPU gets FEVER !!!!!

Suddenly my PC was so lag when open multiple programs n running multiple process at once, I'm very SURE this never happen b4 !!

So I go n open up my system unit's casing, remove the Processor's fan n clean up the dust on the fan cuz the dust was blocking the air flow... the dust was kinda thick, hehehe.

But after cleaning n re-install the fan, is still the same, still lagging when I run the same programs again.... So I went to computer setup before booting the Windows, n check the Processor tempreture, it was 90 degree celcius !!!! my god, left another 10++ degrees more, the Processor can boil a water d...

Then I immediately open the Processor's fan again, n discover the thermal paste had dried up =.= ...let me explain some basic things about this thermal paste, it is a paste that put between ur Processor's fan n Processor, it use to transfer heat from Processor to the Heat sink fan (Processor's fan) so it cool off ur Processor...



The thermal paste, I plan to buy Cooler Master d, but no stock, so I choose this, dun know wat is the brand, but it cost me RM20


So on the next day, I went n buy the thermal paste thant cost me rm20, kinda expensive, but who care when it slove my problem.. n apply it on my Processor, after struggle for few minutes to put the Processor's fan on (oohh.. I hate cliping pin for Processor's fan) and redirect some casing fan to blow directly to the Processor n Graphic Card (my Graphic Card is about 60 degree celcius hot !)... YES... my Processor had cool down to 45 degree celcius !! half reduced !!


C how small it is, the paste inside this container is less than half of the container... =.=, but wat the hell, as long it works to save my PC, money is not a problem


thank god the thermal paste work like charm !!! so here I hav some warning to my readers, do mind ur PC's tempreture and air flow, it will affect ur PC performance, n if it is serious, burn ur Processor.. hav a nice day..bye !

PC Fair April 2009

yay, is PC Fair again, it is all about IT, cameras, showgirls, and showgirls....haha
YES, for those who know me, u know since last year I already addicted shooting photo of showgirl during PC Fair... so do the same for this time, hahaha.. But not only shooting showgirls la of cuz, I'm a IT people also, ofcuz will buy somethings to tweak my PC..haha

but wat disappointed me for this time PC Fair is, the booth tat really selling PC stuff is very less, but camera booth, especially DSLR , pendrive, and broadband services booth have already own 60 to 70% of booth in PC fair.. where are those nVidia, MSI, Gigabyte PC hardware booth? where are those laptop booth? Even the hall juz for speaker had also nolonger exsist in this time PC Fair...but in opposite, those broadband services had the most booth in each hall, blocking the whole pathway, and damn noisy n annoying...

I hope it will be a better PC Fair next time, if can, cut off the Broadband Services booth, muahahaha, here are some photos I shot during PC Fair, not as pro as pro photographer, but comepare to last time, I got improvement liao..haha

Honda Asimo at One Utama

I went to One Utama to see the Honda Asimo (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) robot, and hope to shoot some nice photo there, perhaps showgirls too..keke

This robot not only can walk, but also can run, run faster, run faster n faster, n it won falling apart...last time I remember the Honda wana make a pair of leg to move 1 step need around 1 or 2 minutes, after 22 years, they not only walk, but also can run..!! what a great improvement they have. Besides than walking n running, Asimo also kicked ball, serve drinks and dance...I wonder how the future robot can do, maybe fly? or maybe they can swim? or they had evolve to do anything thing, juz like human... I wonder.....

mY PC broke down !!!

I cant on my pc when i brought it from KL to Klang..i was so curious why the screen show nthg when i on my PC...so i went to check my graphic card, it is ok..screen...also fine..so what is the problem..i was sitting on the floor n scracth my head till bleed, wondering what happen to my "wife" (my pc la)...OMG!!!

after awhile, i decide to call for help..Ah Keong, my pc friend where work as a technician in Sunway Pyramid, i bought and introduce Asus laptop n PCs brought from him, including my little brother, my dad's office and some of my friends and my aunt's pc...ha...I am his big customer..

he ask me to bring the pc to him..so i rush there immediately, when he saw my pc..he siad" aiyooo, too many dust la..not enough air flow to my processor, so it was overheat, moreover, ur pc is on 24/7, no wonder ur "wife" will broke down la....". i depressed n sad..i asked him to help me n teach me how to clean her, so he teach me step by step..when he take out the processor n shake it, whole bunch of dust juz fell like sand..=.=' ...so sory my dear, never know u get cover by those thick dust for so long d...

after cleaning up all the dust including the fan, graphic card, sound card, motherboard and rams, it look like a brand new pc..keke..when he try to on her, she back to live again!!! yay !!!

damn, i really cant live without computer, haha..afther this time, i wll very concious about the "health" n "cleaniness" of my pc...was so scary to c my "wife" broke down..=.=

Crazy about Desktop PC Modding


I like computer, i know it, everybody know it...I so like computer until i cant stop craving to upgrade my desktop pc..but only problem is NOT ENOUGH CASH $$$

haha..but i got do abit modding on my system unit a.k.a CPU...like adding some LED casing fan, and a Musketeer system dynamics detector from Cooler Master...Besides that, i also paste some sticker..cuz last time i found some sticker which i dun know where it come from..so i juz paste it on my casing..ha !
